Health Infomation

Medication: Medicine, including aspirin and cough drops, cannot be administered by the school. Students who need to take prescribed medication must have an appropriate form signed by the physician and parent before the medication can be administered at school. The medication and form must be left in the Health Office.

Head Lice:  School staff will continue monitoring students in classes where there is a known head lice problem.  We will continue to exclude all students who are found to have head lice.  As always, all excluded students will be examined before they are permitted to return to class.

Splints/casts/crutches:  Students coming to school with casts, splints, heavy bandages, crutches, etc. need a release from their physician to return to school.  The student must be cleared through our health office before entering the class.  These students will be excluded from P.E. until released for physical education by the physician.

Communicable Diseases:  A student suspected of having a communicable disease will be excluded from school until guidelines for admission are met.  To protect your student when returning to school following a communicable disease, he or she must be readmitted by the school nurse or a physician.

Serious or prolonged illness:  A student returning to school following a serious or prolonged illness, injury, surgery, or other hospitalization, must have written permission by the Health Care Provider to attend school, including any recommendations regarding physical activity.
